MECHANICAL DEWATERING | BELT PRESS

WaterSolve provides mobile mechanical dewatering services designed to reduce sludge volume and water content quickly and efficiently. Our systems are ideal for municipalities, industrial facilities, and contractors seeking to minimize disposal costs, improve environmental compliance, and accelerate project timelines. Whether you’re working with digester sludge, lagoon cleanouts, or industrial byproducts, our team brings proven technology and expert support to your site.

Mechanical Dewatering Process:

Mechanical dewatering is the process of separating solids from sludge using physical force — primarily pressure and gravity. Unlike passive drying or hauling liquid sludge, mechanical dewatering reduces the total weight and volume of material, resulting in lower transportation and disposal costs.

At WaterSolve, we utilize belt press technology as project requirements dictate due to its efficiency, continuous operation, and adaptability to a wide range of sludge types.

Belt Press Dewatering – WaterSolve Core Method:

The belt filter press is a mechanical system that removes water from sludge through a combination of gravity drainage and compression between two moving belts. It’s an industry-standard solution for sludge dewatering because of its reliability, speed, and ability to handle large volumes.

How it works:

  1. Sludge Conditioning: A polymer is mixed with the sludge to bind fine particles and improve water release.

  2. Gravity Drainage Zone: The sludge is spread evenly on a moving belt, allowing free water to drain.

  3. Pressure Zone: The sludge is compressed between belts and rollers to squeeze out remaining water.

  4. Cake Discharge: Dewatered solids (known as “cake”) are discharged for transport or disposal.

  5. Filtrate Collection: Cleaned water is collected and either returned or treated further.

Applications:

Our mechanical dewatering services are ideal for:

Municipal dredging – Wastewater treatment ponds, reservoirs, and retention basins

Industrial dredging – Manufacturing facilities, power plants, paper mills, refineries

Food and Beverage Industry – Meat processing plants, food processing facilities, and water systems in food production

Stormwater management – Sediment removal for retention and detention basins

Marina and canal dredging – Restoring navigation depth and removing built-up debris

Lake and pond restoration – Improving water flow, depth, and aquatic ecosystems

WaterSolve Process:

Mobilization – Our trailer-mounted belt press unit arrives fully equipped for setup and operation.

System Setup – Polymer feed, pumps, belts, and controls are configured to match your site needs.

On-Site Operation –Trained WaterSolve technicians monitor and adjust settings to maximize efficiency.
